Life Science Day Marks 10 years as Gothenburg’s leading investor meeting

On 4 March, investors, entrepreneurs and industry leaders will gather at Wallenberg Conference Centre, Sahlgrenska Academy, as Life Science Day marks its 10th anniversary. Over the past decade, the event has established itself as Gothenburg’s largest investor meeting dedicated to life science - connecting research-driven companies with capital, expertise and long-term partners.

This year’s programme opens with industrial leader Leif Johansson, former Chair of AstraZeneca, and features entrepreneur Erik Gatenholm, who will share insights from building BICO/Cellink into an internationally recognised life science group.

“When we launched Life Science Day ten years ago, the ambition was to create a clear meeting place between companies and capital here in Gothenburg. Today, it has grown into the city’s largest physical investor meeting dedicated to life science, reflecting the strength and development of the sector,” says initiator Mats Ekberg.

As a partner to the event, Sahlgrenska Science Park is proud that three companies from our community will pitch on stage:

  • Beatlab develops technology for early identification of cardiovascular disease through advanced pulse wave analysis and signal processing, enabling earlier detection of cardiac abnormalities.

  • Detectivio develops AI-based, contactless technology for measuring vital parameters such as heart rate and oxygen saturation using camera-based solutions, supporting more efficient health assessments and clinical studies.

  • BrainLink is developing wireless systems for continuous intracranial pressure monitoring and treatment of hydrocephalus, aiming to improve care and quality of life for patients with neurological conditions.

Life Science Day highlights the growing maturity of Gothenburg’s life science sector — and the importance of strong connections between science and capital.

“Life science is both knowledge- and capital-intensive. For innovations to reach patients and markets, long-term investors are essential. Life Science Day is about creating those connections,” says initiator Mats Ekberg.

The event is organised by Finwire and Företagsfinansiering i Fyrstad, with Sahlgrenska Science Park and GU Ventures as partners.
